Candace and I are the co-founders of Adventurebumss, LLC. We were raised in a small town in Northern California where I learned the trade of construction while working in the family business. After leaving our hometown in search of adventure, Candace and I lived in a small 480 square foot house near the beach in Southern California — this is where we first recognized the importance of making the most of a limited living space. Living close to the beach afforded us the opportunity to do something active every day, whether that be walking the beach trail, going for a swim in the ocean, or running to the beach and back!
While taking the 8 hour drive back to our hometown to visit, I brought up the idea to Candace of “van life”. At first Candace wasn’t into the idea, but after watching van lifers on YouTube and dreaming about the adventures that awaited, we set out to see what we could do with an even smaller space, by converting a van. Candace had one condition, if we were going to live in a van, it needed to feel homey! So that’s where my construction skills came into play! We bought a new Dodge ProMaster Van and collectively put our skills to the test to make the best use of the space available. The result was everything we had hoped for, a beautiful home on wheels!
Candace and I lived in the van for 9 months traveling along the pacific coast, where we spent our days surfing, hiking in the mountains, and snowboarding. The freedom of living in the van allowed us the opportunity to cliff jump, rock climb, surf, dive, and generally live the adventurers dream on our own terms. Since returning to Sacramento, we have assisted diverse van life enthusiasts in converting their own vans into livable space. We work as team helping customers realize their own van life dreams — first in selecting a layout design, and then the build. Candace and I put all our heart into our van conversion work, and ensure that we stay up to date with the latest technology and very best options for van conversions.

Van life wouldn’t be complete without one’s animal family. We have two great adventurer dogs, Boomer and Luna, who accompany us on our journeys.
Boomer is a blue nose pit bull. He loves backpacking, camping, and pulling his dad around on his longboard. However, his favorite thing to do is sleep, and he’s a big snuggler. Luna is a border collie and husky mix. Candace and I rescued her when she was 3 months old. Luna loves backpacking, camping, swimming and playing tag with her brother Boomer. Luna is also a big fan of sleep and cuddling with Mom and Dad.
