At Adventurebumss, we absolutely love the lifestyle of van life. We converted our own ProMaster van to have the comforts of home while traveling. Now our goal is to help you build out your own van and get you on the road to live your dream. We’re here to help, whether that’s having us do your full build or you’re a DIYer and you just need help with the scary stuff.
Initially we help our customer’s define the best use of space for the floor plan. Our consultation includes recommendations of must haves based upon our own practical experience as van-lifers and from what we’ve learned working in the field of construction. We’ll have recommendations for insulation, and to ensure a quiet ride we can also install sound deadener. We’ll discuss the solar options and help with the calculation of amp hours/solar wattage needed for the build, for which we specialize in Victron energy and Renogy brands. We discuss the options between fixed and Murphy beds, between front loading and ice chest fridges, between tiny wood stoves and diesel/propane heaters, and more. Once a floorplan and materials have been agreed upon we measure and tape everything off to provide a visual of the work to be done.
From what what was decided upon in the consultation we’ll provide you a build quote. Upon your agreement, we’ll then provide our contract, a drop-off time, and the down payment needed for materials and the work to begin. Conversion then starts. We keep our customers up-to-date on the progress of our work, which includes photos of our progress. Upon completion we will go over everything — the build process, functions, and operation.
A quote will be provided for consults, partial builds, and full conversions. We prefer to do the build work at our residential shop, yet we will travel up to 50 miles for partial jobs (solar, electrical, woodworking), with an appropriate travel fee. Our conversion services are available for all van types, including the Ford Transit, Ram ProMaster, and Sprinter models. We also work on older vans like the Chevy G30 and Ford Ecocline.
Our van conversion knowledge comes from our own experience customizing and traveling in our ProMaster van and from what I (Eric) learned while working with my grandfather in the family construction business. I have several years of diverse construction experience, which includes woodworking and building custom structures, tile, electrical wiring, plumbing, drywall, and concrete. These builder skills are fundamental to the custom van conversion work that I do. I also actively take courses with Victron to stay current with the American Boat and Yacht Council standards for all solar wiring. As a team, we stay up to date in all things van-life to ensure that we know the best van conversion build options available.
Our van camper conversions are designed, handcrafted, and installed by true van-life enthusiasts. Since we’re a small company, we do the design and build personally, which allows us to ensure that our Sacramento customers receive the very best van conversion possible; and since all our conversion work is custom, the options are endless.
Our design team can help you decide on solar panels, water system, lighting, heating, cooling, utility racks, equipment, and accessories. For the living space we’ll discuss the choices of windows, the kitchen must-haves, bed and seating options, tables, and cabinetry. We’ll have recommendations for showers, and don’t forget the porta-potti. And for the true homey feel, we can install TV, audio, and wi-fi. We love taking your ideas and tuning them into reality!
We can also help with partial builds. Popular partial build options include solar, woodworking, plumbing, insulation, and window/fan installs. We provide travel-approved recommendations, and quality craftsmanship, so that our customers have the comforts of home when on the road. Contact us today to learn how we can help!
